Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

• Background investigation required by federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permissible by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel by following site-specific security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report unusual conditions and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents calmly and in accordance with established protocols.
• Prepare clear incident reports and daily activity logs.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Transit in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Security Officer supporting a government transportation location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, observe and report security-related concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication to visitors and staff. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel by following site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, entrances, public areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, reporting unusual conditions, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
