Allied Universal in Queens, NY is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Armed) to support a government transit location. The role involves guarding transit facilities, patrolling areas, managing access, and delivering professional customer service with clear communication.

The position requires a high school diploma, a Law Enforcement Officer License, and an armed guard credential preferred. Schedule includes Fri mornings and Sun evenings with competitive hourly pay and shift flexibility.

Qualifications

• Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
• A Law Enforcement Officer License is required.
• An Armed Guard Card or License is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• As a condition of employment, a background investigation will be conducted per laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to transit passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, stations, entrances, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate transit personnel and public emergency responders.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation for patrol activities, incidents, observations, and other security-related matters.

Pay Rate: $34.70 - $35.70 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Fri 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM; Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
• A Law Enforcement Officer License is required.
• An Armed Guard Card or License is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
