Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time in Indianapolis, IN. This flexible, dependable position offers reliable base hours with the option to earn more by picking up additional shifts.

Job Description

Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands‑on experience, or work toward a full‑time career with the industry leader.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Security Check in Indianapolis, IN, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.22 / Hour

Sat 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security‑related screening procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Screen individuals, carry‑on items, packages, and other authorized property entering or leaving the logistics and distribution location in accordance with established procedures.
• Operate screening equipment and conduct manual inspections as assigned, while maintaining professional communication and respecting established access protocols.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, promptly reporting concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, shipping and receiving locations, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• X‑ray screening experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
