Job summary

Allied Universal in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Security Officer Screening Technology Technician to support logistics and distribution clients. This part-time role focuses on using screening technology to monitor shipments and access points while maintaining a visible security presence and delivering professional customer service.

You will operate screening equipment, conduct inspections, and respond calmly to incidents.

Qualifications

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• X-ray screening experience preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Loss prevention experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old (21+ for armed roles) and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and permitted items entering designated areas in accordance with site procedures and access requirements.
• Operate screening equipment and conduct inspections of packages, personal belongings, and/or vehicles as authorized by site policy.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly reporting concerns through established channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, operational spaces, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
