Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a full-time security professional in Secaucus, NJ to protect people and property at a technology and telecommunications site.

Responsibilities include access control, screening, visitor records, and emergency response, with a focus on customer service for employees, visitors, and contractors. The role emphasizes vigilance, escalation procedures, and teamwork with site contacts.

Qualifications

• Have at least 5 years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access screening protocols, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and deliveries in accordance with established entry requirements and site policies, helping to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
• Verify identification, maintain accurate visitor and contractor records, issue temporary credentials as authorized, and direct individuals to appropriate locations.
• Monitor entry points, screening equipment, and surrounding areas for unusual activity; promptly report security-related concerns, policy violations, and maintenance issues.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation procedures and communicating with Allied Universal supervision and site contacts as needed.

Pay Rate: $19.65 / Hour

• Mon: 02:30 PM - 10:30 PM
• Tue: 02:30 PM - 10:30 PM
• Wed: 02:30 PM - 10:30 PM
• Fri: 02:30 PM - 10:30 PM
• Sat: 02:30 PM - 10:30 PM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 5 years of security-related experience.
• Ability to operate a Segway or T3 is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
