Job summary

Nebraska Furniture Mart in Cedar Park, TX is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe store environment and protect staff and property. You will project authority and assist customers and colleagues as needed.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, assisting with wheelchairs and carts, monitoring property, responding to incidents, patrolling facilities, and documenting investigations. This role requires flexibility for night or weekend shifts and passing background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to engage customers professionally.
• Flexibility for varying shifts, including nights/weekends.
• Stamina to stand long periods.
• Must complete NFM Response to Resistance and First Responder training within 90 days.
• Ability to obtain a non-commissioned security officer license within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, visitors, and vendors and help locate staff.
• Assist with wheelchairs and carts as needed.
• Monitor and tag property entering the store.
• React to incidents such as shoplifting or medical emergencies.
• Patrol facilities and parking areas; direct traffic during events.
• Assist customers with vehicle issues and retrieve shopping carts.
• Document findings from investigations and security surveys.
