Job summary

Nebraska Furniture Mart, Inc. is seeking a Security Officer in The Colony, TX to provide a visible security presence, protect property and staff, and ensure a safe store environment.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, aiding with carts and mobility devices, monitoring entry points, handling incidents, patrolling premises, and documenting findings. Requires flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to work night/evening/early hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to consistently engage customers in a professional manner.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and situations.
• Stamina to stand for long periods.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• OC foam deployment certification within 1 year (Nebraska & Kansas only).
• Complete NFM Response to Resistance & First Responder training within 90 days.
• Ability to obtain a non-commissioned security officer license within 30 days (Texas only).
• Ability to work night, weekend, and/or early morning hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, visitors, and vendors and assist them in locating staff.
• Issue electric handicapped shopping carts and assist with wheelchairs and carts.
• Monitor and tag property brought into stores.
• Respond to incidents such as shoplifting or emergencies and assist as needed.
• Patrol facilities and parking areas by foot or vehicle and direct traffic during events.
• Help customers and staff with vehicle break-downs and retrieve carts from parking areas.
• Conduct investigations, audits, and security surveys and document findings.
