Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Retail Store Patrol in Brooklyn, NY to protect customers and property in a busy retail environment. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, support access control, and deliver outstanding customer service.

As an unarmed officer, you will communicate professionally with shoppers, team members, and visitors, report security concerns promptly, and follow site procedures.

Qualifications

• Guard card or license preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Loss prevention experience preferred.
• Access control or badge experience preferred.
• State/local security license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required where allowed by law.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, team members, and visitors by following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store to identify unusual activity or conditions.
• Respond to incidents and concerns calmly and report to leadership as needed.
• Monitor access points to deter theft and unauthorized access.
• Document patrols and incidents and communicate findings to management.

As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and provide outstanding customer service. You will communicate professionally with shoppers, team members, and visitors while reporting security-related concerns. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, team members, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail store, sales floor, receiving areas, exterior entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Monitor access points and observe customer and visitor activity to help deter theft, unauthorized access, and other policy violations.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Possession of a state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
