Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer Retail Center in New York, NY. You will provide customer service, patrol retail areas, monitor access points, and respond calmly to incidents to ensure a safe environment for shoppers and staff.

The role requires NYS Security Guard License, at least 6 months in security, and age requirements. CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred. A background check and drug screen are part of employment.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• CPR and CPR/First Aid certifications preferred.
• 18+ (unarmed) / 21+ (armed) age requirement.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, retailers, and staff by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, guest concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout retail common areas, storefront perimeters, entrances, exits, loading areas, and surrounding property.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting unusual conditions, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident documentation while communicating professionally with visitors, retail personnel, and Allied Universal leadership.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
