Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Retail Store Patrol in Brooklyn, NY. This full-time position involves patrolling a retail store, providing excellent customer service, and reporting security concerns to ensure a safe shopping environment.

As an unarmed Patrol Officer, you will monitor entrances, deter theft, support access control, and communicate with shoppers and staff. The role requires meeting minimum requirements and passing background checks and drug screening as applicable.

Qualifications

• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Possession of a state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation and drug screen as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, team members, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the retail store, sales floor, receiving areas, and perimeter.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations calmly and report to site leadership.
• Monitor access points and observe activity to deter theft and policy violations.
• Document patrols and incidents and communicate information to management.

Pay Rate: $19.48 / Hour

• Mon 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM
• Tue 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM
• Fri 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM
• Sat 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM
• Sun 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, team members, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail store, sales floor, receiving areas, exterior entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Monitor access points and observe customer and visitor activity to help deter theft, unauthorized access, and other policy violations.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Possession of a state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
