Job summary

Allied Universal in New York, NY is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Customer Service Badge Operations to safeguard clients across Retail/Malls and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence, support access control, and provide outstanding customer service.

The role is full-time, with a pay rate of $19.48 per hour and a daytime schedule including Tue–Sat evenings.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles (21+ for armed).
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control activities, and provide outstanding customer service. You will communicate professionally with shoppers, team members, and visitors while responding to security-related concerns with integrity, reliability, and teamwork. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location to help deter unauthorized access, theft, and other policy violations.
• Document observations, incidents, and irregular conditions in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
