Job summary

Allied Universal in Albany, NY is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer Protective Patrol. You will provide a visible security presence, assist tenants and visitors, and uphold site policies across commercial real estate locations.

Schedule includes daytime and weekend shifts with a pay rate of $22.07 per hour. You will perform routine patrols, monitor access, respond to incidents, and submit clear activity reports to leadership.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Minimum 6 months of security-related experience.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation as required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be subject to state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and property management personnel while carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, parking areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the property and verify visitor/vendor authorization per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document observations.
• Prepare clear activity reports and communicate security concerns and issues to leadership and site contacts.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and/or property management personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at commercial real estate locations.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, parking areas, exterior grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.


• Monitor access to the property, verify visitor and vendor authorization as directed by site procedures, and maintain awareness of activity throughout assigned areas.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document observations in accordance with site procedures.


• Prepare clear, accurate activity reports and communicate security-related concerns, maintenance issues, and unusual conditions to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.


• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
