Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for perimeter patrol at a Sioux Falls, SD retail/mall location. You will conduct regular unarmed patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and provide courteous customer service to visitors, shoppers, tenants, and staff.

Requirements include completion of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent, a high school diploma, and the ability to pass background checks and a drug screen.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Security Officer Perimeter Patrol (Sioux Falls, SD)

You will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a retail and mall location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 06:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Tue: 06:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Thur: 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Fri: 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, shoppers, tenants, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail and mall common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations according to established procedures.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation while maintaining a professional presence and following Allied Universal and location-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be a graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
