Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and the public at a government location by carrying out security procedures and emergency responses.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeters; identify hazards and report incidents.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization; maintain logs and incident documentation.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and emergencies per site procedures and notify appropriate personnel.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Patrol Customer Care in Spanaway, WA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support access control activities. You will interact professionally with employees and visitors, communicate observations, and use technology to document security-related activities. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services.
• Maintain a professional presence to help deter unauthorized activity while providing clear directions and assistance to the public.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
