Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Patrol in Reading, PA. You will provide visitor support, conduct patrols, and deter unauthorized activity while maintaining a visible presence at a government location. The role emphasizes safety, integrity, and teamwork in a welcoming environment.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $16.00 / Hour

• Security Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months of relevant security experience (C112) to be considered for employment. This experience should be clearly outlined in the candidate’s resume and cover letter.

• Fri: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Sat: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Sun: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, patients, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access, and maintain awareness of activity throughout the assigned location.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately; communicate security-related concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
