Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed TWIC Patrol) in Norfolk, VA. You will provide visitor and employee assistance, conduct patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents with professional communication.

This role emphasizes customer service, strict adherence to site procedures, and collaboration with a government maritime facility. A TSA TWIC credential is required; a Guard Card is preferred, and background checks are conducted.

Qualifications

• Possess a TSA-issued Transportation Worker Identification Credential.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check conducted per federal/state/local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories as allowed by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and authorized personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at a government maritime facility.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, waterfront-adjacent areas, gates, and perimeter locations, reporting unusual conditions and potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization as directed, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders when needed.
• Help to deter unauthorized access, theft, trespassing, and disruptive activity through a visible patrol presence and timely reporting.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a TSA-issued Transportation Worker Identification Credential.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
