Allied Universal in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed TWIC Patrol Readiness to safeguard government transportation locations and other client sites. This role emphasizes visible patrol presence, customer service, and adherence to post orders.

You will conduct routine unarmed patrols, verify credentials, report observations, and respond calmly to incidents while coordinating with site personnel and law enforcement as needed.

Qualifications

• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/locality.
• Valid driver's license required for driving positions only.

• Prepare clear activity and incident reports and maintain professional communication with site representatives and law enforcement.

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed TWIC Patrol Readiness in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will help maintain an orderly environment while responding to security-related concerns and working collaboratively with site personnel. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, employees, and authorized port personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of port facilities, access points, parking areas, perimeter areas, and waterfront locations, documenting observations and reporting unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to restricted areas by verifying credentials, following visitor-management procedures, and reporting unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and maintain professional communication with site representatives, law enforcement, and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
