Job summary

Allied Universal Portsmouth, VA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer TWIC at a government maritime transportation location. You will provide customer service, conduct patrols, deter incidents, and maintain logs.

Qualifications

• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation in accordance with federal/state/local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and vendors while carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminals, roadways, parking areas, buildings, and perimeter areas; report hazards.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry; deter unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify site contacts and public-service agencies as directed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs for patrols and observations.

Job Schedule: DayTime Fri 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM Sat 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM Sun 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government maritime transportation location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminals, roadways, parking areas, buildings, and perimeter areas, reporting unusual conditions and potential hazards.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, helping to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and public-service agencies as directed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs for patrols, incidents, and security-related observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
