Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Part Time Unarmed Patrol Wayfinding Security Officer in Herndon, VA. You will patrol, deter incidents, assist with access control, and provide professional customer service to visitors and employees at a premier commercial real estate location.

The role emphasizes flexibility, on-demand shift claiming, and using smart tools to view and claim shifts.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and employees at a commercial real estate location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the building, common areas, parking facilities, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate activity, incident, and patrol documentation.
• Report maintenance concerns, hazards, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate personnel while maintaining a professional presence at the location.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
