Job summary

Allied Universal in Herndon, VA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer Patrol Area Survey to protect a technology-focused corporate location. You will perform armed? unarmed patrols, deter security incidents, support access control, and assist employees and visitors with professionalism.

Utilize computer or tablet tools to document activity and communicate clearly while delivering service through teamwork and Allied Universal’s caring, agile and innovative culture. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check subject to law; drug screen required.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Pay Rate: $21.63 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a corporate technology location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout office areas, common spaces, parking facilities, and the property perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, reporting unusual conditions and escalating access-related issues as directed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with appropriate personnel.
• Complete required reports, daily activity logs, and incident documentation accurately and in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
