As a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol Deterrence in Asheville, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Security Officer supporting an educational campus, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to students, staff, and visitors. You will communicate clearly, respond to concerns, and contribute to a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and Allied Universal’s caring, reliable, agile, and innovative approach.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the educational location, reporting unauthorized access, suspicious behavior, damaged property, and other security-related concerns.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and actions taken, while maintaining professional communication with campus stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
