Job summary

Allied Universal in Asheville, NC seeks an Unarmed Security Officer to protect campus customers and assets. You will monitor buildings, assist with access control, and respond to incidents with professionalism and courtesy, reflecting the company’s caring, reliable culture.

You’ll work Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, serving students, staff, and visitors while delivering exceptional customer service and upholding campus protocols and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required.
• Driver's license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while carrying out security procedures and campus policies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, following campus protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor for unusual conditions, report observations promptly, and document incidents.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction, and security-related support during campus events and after-hours.

Pay Rate: $18.03 / Hour

• Mon 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Tue 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Wed 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Thur 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Fri 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for unusual conditions, report observations promptly, and document incidents and patrol activity in accordance with site requirements.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction, and security-related support during campus events, activities, and after-hours operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
