Job summary

Allied Universal in San Mateo, CA seeks a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) to patrol and protect client properties. You’ll engage with tenants and staff, monitor entrances, and respond calmly to incidents while ensuring safety and a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or staff while following site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the property, verify visitor credentials as directed, and report access concerns or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner and request additional assistance when needed.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other security-related documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
