Job summary

Allied Universal in Chantilly, VA is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol Access Support). You will provide security services for healthcare locations, monitor access points, and deliver courteous customer service while maintaining a visible presence.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the healthcare location, including laboratory areas, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, helping to deter unauthorized entry and maintain an orderly environment.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Assist with maintaining awareness of potentially unusual activity, hazards, and facility concerns, escalating matters according to established procedures.
