Allied Universal in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) to safeguard residents, staff, and visitors. You will monitor designated areas, respond professionally to incidents, and maintain a welcoming environment in a shelter setting.

The role offers a part-time schedule with daytime and overnight shifts. Pay is $17.00 per hour, with opportunities to use our Shift-claim platform to adjust your hours and explore new roles within the company.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws; driver's license if driving.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including building entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations, to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner while following established site procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with maintaining an orderly environment, and report policy violations or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
