Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time Unarmed Patrol) in Brooklyn, NY. You will monitor, deter incidents, support access control, and deliver customer service to residents, visitors, and staff.

The schedule is daytime and evenings on weekends, with a $17.00 per hour pay rate. As a shelter security role, there is a focus on creating a welcoming environment while following post orders and completing activity reports.

Qualifications

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• A state, county, and/or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures while maintaining a professional and compassionate presence in a residential setting.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly environment by following post orders, communicating with site staff, and completing required activity reports.
