Job summary

Allied Universal in Arlington, VA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) to protect our clients and assets. You will perform routine patrols, monitor access points, and report incidents using tablet tools while delivering excellent customer service.

This role offers a flexible schedule with weekend shifts; pay is $21.75 per hour. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a corporate technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, common spaces, parking areas, building perimeters, and other assigned locations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
• Monitor for unusual activity, potential hazards, and policy violations, document observations accurately, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Support access management by verifying credentials, directing authorized visitors, and assisting with adherence to entry and visitor-management procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
