Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Hazard Recognition in Chicago, IL to protect clients across Retail/Malls and other sectors. You will patrol, deter incidents, and provide responsive customer service while maintaining a visible presence.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check in accordance with laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and retail patrons while carrying out security-related procedures and emergency responses.
• Respond to incidents and disturbances in a calm, professional manner; notify appropriate personnel or emergency services.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols across common areas, parking, retail spaces, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious behavior or violations according to site procedures.
• Prepare clear activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and retail patrons while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout common areas, parking areas, retail spaces, residential building exteriors, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor and contractor activity, and report suspicious behavior, property concerns, or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
