Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time Weekend) in Chicago, IL. The role involves unarmed patrols, customer service to shoppers and tenants, and ensuring safety across retail/mall locations.

You will respond to incidents, document activities, and maintain a visible security presence during shifts. Ideal candidates are 18+ with a high school diploma, able to pass background checks and drug screens, and able to work weekend daytime hours per the schedule.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents and concerns in a calm, professional manner; document observations and communicate information to site leadership or responders.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of the retail property, common areas, parking, entrances, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and direct visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel per site procedures.
• Complete reports, daily logs, and incident documentation accurately and timely.

Pay Rate: $19.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, tenant or visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail property, common areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe activity within assigned areas, and assist with directing visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel in accordance with site procedures.
• Complete required reports, daily activity logs, and incident documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
