Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) in Northlake, IL. You will perform routine patrols, monitor access points, and provide professional security support across retail distribution sites.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Ages: 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted as part of employment.
• Criminal history considered in line with applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local law.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and associates at a retail distribution location by following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations; document observations and report issues.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, parking, loading docks, yards, entries, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for employees, contractors, vendors, and delivery personnel.
• Assist with traffic flow and maintain logs, reports, and communicate information to leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and associates at a retail distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and report issues to appropriate site contacts.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the distribution facility, parking areas, loading docks, trailer yards, entry points, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for employees, contractors, vendors, and delivery personnel in accordance with site procedures.
• Assist with vehicle, pedestrian, and delivery traffic flow at the location while maintaining accurate logs, completing reports, and communicating relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Have access control and badge experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
