Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) in Katy, TX to monitor access points, patrol assigned areas, and provide excellent customer service to personnel and visitors. The role emphasizes safety, clear communication, and adherence to site procedures within a chemical/petrochemical location.

You will support access control, report incidents, and maintain logs while working a set weekend schedule.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific security procedures and access-control requirements.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and maintain logs.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, evacuations, and other critical situations calmly and following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, restricted areas, parking areas, and perimeters.
• Complete accurate activity reports and shift communications per site requirements.

• Sat 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Sun 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials as required, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, evacuations, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, restricted areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards or maintenance concerns.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
