Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Unarmed Security Officer in New York, NY to monitor and safeguard facilities, provide excellent customer service, and deter security incidents through a visible presence.

You will follow site-specific procedures, report incidents promptly, conduct assigned patrols, control access points, and assist visitors with professionalism and care. A NYS Security Guard License and at least 1 year of security experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must have NYS Security Guard License.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Ages 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/locality.

Responsibilities

• Monitor access points and visitor activity and direct individuals to resources or personnel as needed.
• Document incidents and observations accurately and communicate to site leadership and Allied Universal.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and other stakeholders while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, building exteriors, entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with location requirements, directing individuals to appropriate resources or personnel as needed.
• Document incidents, observations, and security-related concerns accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
