Job summary

Allied Universal in New York is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time to provide reliable front desk security at a commercial real estate site. This role offers fixed shifts with opportunities to pick up additional hours through our scheduling platform.

You will welcome visitors, monitor access, and respond calmly to incidents, with training and advancement opportunities within Allied Universal. The position requires at least 6 months security experience and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Provide exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and building staff at a commercial real estate front desk while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures and policies.
• Welcome visitors, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor records, and issue or collect visitor credentials in accordance with site requirements.
• Monitor access to the building lobby and designated entry points, assist with directing guests, and help to deter unauthorized access.
• Receive and route calls, deliveries, and service requests; communicate relevant information to appropriate building personnel and/or emergency contacts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following site‑specific emergency response procedures.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Front Desk Checkpoint in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $23.15 / Hour

How This Role Works

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
