Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Courtesy in NEW YORK, NY. The role provides reliable, flexible hours at an assigned site with opportunities to pick-up additional shifts to increase earnings.

Pay rate is $17.25 per hour with a fixed anchor shift and a program to earn more by claiming shifts across multiple sites. This position supports residents, visitors, and staff while upholding safety and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, access-related issues, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential buildings, common areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance or security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and/or unusual conditions according to site procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and follow-up needs to Allied Universal leadership and designated site contacts.

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSun04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
