Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer in New Orleans, LA. You will manage access control, verify badges, monitor entry points, and respond to incidents while delivering strong customer service.

This role offers flexible evenings, the ability to build a schedule, and opportunities to use our Claim a Shift platform. A background check and basic licensing may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to customers, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific access control procedures and policies.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorization for access, and maintain visitor sign-in and credential processes.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, escalating as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols of retail areas, stockrooms, receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter to identify security concerns.
• Document observations and incidents accurately and communicate findings to site leadership.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $16.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 05:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• Thur 05:00 PM - 10:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to customers, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorization for access, and maintain visitor sign-in and credential processes in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of retail areas, stockrooms, receiving areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help identify and report security-related concerns.
• Document observations, incidents, and access-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
