Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer in West Columbia, SC, to safeguard client sites, monitor access, and perform routine patrols. The role emphasizes customer service, incident response, and adherence to site procedures.

Qualifications

• 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, offices, production areas, parking areas, access points, and the perimeter, reporting unusual conditions or concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required by site procedures, and deter unauthorized entry.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation for patrols, incidents, and security-related activities.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
