Job summary

Allied Universal® is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Washington, DC to coordinate communications, monitor alarms and access control, and support timely responses to security incidents at a commercial real estate site. You will maintain clear records and provide exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff.

The role requires 21+ years of age for certain assignments, a high school diploma, and successful background checks with drug screening as applicable.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background checks will be performed as required by law.
• Drug screening is required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and property staff while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related responsibilities at a commercial real estate location.
• Monitor incoming calls, alarms, cameras, access control activity, and other communication systems; document and relay relevant information to appropriate personnel.
• Dispatch officers and maintenance or emergency resources in response to incidents, service requests, and critical situations, maintaining calm and professional communication.
• Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, visitor records, key or access credentials, and shift activity documentation in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and emergency situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with property management, first responders, and Allied Universal leadership as appropriate.

Job Schedule:

• Fri 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
