Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time) in Nashville, TN to patrol campuses, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

You will conduct routine and random patrols, monitor access points, and report incidents in line with site procedures and campus protocols. Prior badge access experience is helpful and a valid driver’s license may be required for some shifts.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and campus partners by following site procedures and emergency protocols.
• Respond to incidents and alarms calmly and follow campus protocols.
• Conduct regular patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious conditions or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear incident reports and daily activity logs as required by Allied Universal and site procedures.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
