Job summary

Allied Universal in Nashville, TN is seeking a part-time Security Officer to patrol campus areas, monitor access points, and provide courteous service to students, staff, and visitors.

You will conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols, respond to incidents with calm professionalism, and maintain accurate reports while working a night schedule (Wed and Thu 9:30 PM–6:00 AM).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screening required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence halls, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to identify hazards or maintenance needs.
• Respond to incidents and alarms in a calm, professional manner and contact appropriate campus resources or emergency services.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry, reporting concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols and incidents in clear reports and communicate information to leadership and site contacts.

Pay Rate: $17.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed: 09:30 PM - 06:00 AM
• Thur: 09:30 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence halls, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical calls, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting appropriate campus resources and/or emergency services.
• Monitor access points and campus activity, verify authorized entry where required, and report access-control concerns or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and actions taken in clear, accurate reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
