Job summary

Allied Universal in Nashville, TN is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time Protective Patrol) to serve government locations and deter security threats. You will patrol, monitor access points, document observations, and provide excellent customer service while maintaining a visible presence.

Qualifications

• Three years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security experience OR a college degree.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors at a government location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations calmly and following emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials as directed, and report unusual activity, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation accurately and timely.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors at a government location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least three years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
