Job Description

As a Security Officer Part Time Armed Site Patrol in CHICAGO, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in an educational setting, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. You will communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors while responding to security-related needs. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, residence-related areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; request additional assistance and coordinate with emergency responders when needed.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious behavior or facility concerns, and document observations, incidents, and actions taken in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Carry authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, Allied Universal policies, training requirements, and site-specific post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
