Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Unarmed Security Officer in Chicago, IL. You will monitor a commercial real estate site, deter incidents, and provide strong customer service while maintaining access control and situational awareness.

The role offers flexible DayTime and Night shifts with a pay rate of $21.14 per hour. A high school diploma is required; a guard card/license and CPR certification are preferred, and background checks are conducted per law.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or employees by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and contractor entry in accordance with site policies, maintaining accurate logs and documentation as required.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency responders when needed.
• Complete detailed activity reports and communicate observations, incidents, maintenance concerns, and security-related issues to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A state, county, and/or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
