Job summary

Allied Universal is currently seeking an armed Security Officer in Chicago, IL to safeguard clients across financial institutions and other sectors. The role involves monitoring, patrolling, and responding to incidents with professionalism while maintaining a welcoming environment through strong customer service. Position Type: Full Time.

Pay Rate: $21.53 per hour. Work schedule includes day shifts Monday through Saturday.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Armed guard card and/or license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check conducted per federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Must be at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors at a financial institution by carrying out site-specific security procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally per post orders and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials, and report suspicious activity or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain documentation for patrols, incidents, and security activities.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors at a financial institution by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required documentation for patrols, incidents, and security-related activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
