Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time Armed Patrol Readiness) in Houston, TX. You will patrol government sites, deter security incidents, and deliver exceptional service while maintaining a visible presence and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Armed Guard Card or License required.
• At least 6 months armed security/military experience.
• Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Age 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements per state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at a government location following security procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeters; report hazards and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and maintain a professional demeanor to deter unauthorized entry.
• Respond to incidents and alarms calmly and coordinate with emergency services as directed.
• Complete patrol logs and incident reports accurately and promptly.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $18.84 / Hour

Job Schedule: Wed 07:45 AM - 04:15 PM; Thur 07:45 AM - 04:15 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations; report unusual conditions, hazards, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, helping to deter unauthorized entry and prohibited conduct while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and emergency services as directed by site procedures.
• Complete required patrol logs, incident reports, and shift documentation accurately and promptly.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
