Job summary

Allied Universal in Houston, TX is seeking a Part Time Armed Patrol Operations Security Officer to safeguard government facilities and other sites. You will conduct regular patrols, maintain a visible presence, deter incidents, and provide professional customer service.

This role offers flexible weekend schedule, earning $18.40 per hour, with training and growth opportunities. A Level III Armed Certification in Texas, prior security or law enforcement experience, and a high school diploma are

Qualifications

• 3+ years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience or 5+ years of armed security-related experience.
• Be a certified law enforcement graduate.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas only.
• An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at government facilities by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and public emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned government buildings, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, following applicable site policies for visitors, contractors, deliveries, and vehicles.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation related to patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities.
