• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while enforcing site policies and security procedures at government facilities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and document activities per site procedures.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of assigned government buildings, grounds, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry following visitor management policies.
• Prepare incident reports and daily logs, communicating with Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.40 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeTue06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, following established visitor management and access‑control procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation; communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 3+ years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or 5+ years of armed security experience.
• Be a certified law enforcement graduate.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• An Armed Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
