Job summary

Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis is seeking a Security Officer to monitor, respond to incidents overnight, and assist guests. You will act as a first responder trained in CPR and support the Fire Command center when needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1+ years of security experience, preferably within Hotels.
• High School diploma -Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
• Apply an ethical approach to the outcome of situations.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with peers, superiors and clients.
• Work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
• Must be flexible with schedule - Able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, evening/overnight shifts.
• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
• Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment.
• Strong problem solving skills, ability to handledifficult situations and guests.

Responsibilities

• Assist Hotel team to protect guests, patrons and associates; their property, Hotel property, building and grounds. Enforce Hotel rules, regulations and policies as well as the departments’ rules, policies and standards.
• Promote safety awareness and enforcement throughout the Hotel to reduce accidents and loss by providing training as required.
• Respond to all emergency calls including Emergency Response team calls. Assist in Fire Command center when needed. Display knowledge of fire/life safety systems and procedures.
• Patrol building noting and correcting safety, security, and fire hazards; able to walk/run up stairs carrying a fire extinguisher.
• Implement all policies and procedures regarding security and safety.
• Share duties in Operations Center with emergency and department phone monitoring, CCTV monitoring, alarm monitoring, access control, and visitor management.
• Respond properly in any hotel emergency safety situation.
• Assist with Workers’ Compensation, complete reports, and maintain health and safety.
• Write comprehensive incident reports and conduct investigations; maintain records and follow-up on investigations.
• Project an image of friendliness, professionalism and willingness to provide personalized services to all occupants and guests.
• Act as a liaison with law enforcement, city and federal agencies and hotel associations.
• Respond to and mediate non-emergency security calls, minor injuries, disputes and stressful situations.
• Contain and transport potentially contaminated items per Blood Borne Pathogen program.
• Provide basic security services, key control, guest room lock issues and safe malfunctions.
• Participate in development and implementation of the hotel’s fire plan and test Fire/Emergency readiness.
• Works harmoniously with co-workers and supervisors.

About the role

Basic Purpose: Monitors, responds and trains for emergency/security systems and incidents. Is the safety and policy leader for the overnightshift.Assistsguests and employees with operational tasks. Responds as a 1stresponder trained in CPR.Answers phones and directs calls, as well asassistingwith any other tasks needed on the overnight shift.

• Write comprehensive incident reports and conduct thorough investigations. Maintain report records,assistand follow-up on investigations, and approve reports and logs. Initiates andassistsGeneral liability reports. Promotes loss prevention through training and awareness throughout the building to reduce claims.
• Project an image of friendliness,professionalismand willingness to provide personalized services to all building occupants, workers, and neighbors, whether over the phone or in person.
• Act as a liaison with all law enforcement agencies, city and federal agencies and hotel associations.
• Respond to and mediate all non-emergency security calls, minor injuries, disputes, stressful, and complicatedissuesetc.
• Containand transport items potentially contaminatedin accordance withBlood Borne Pathogen program and training.
• Provide basic security services, key control,guestand function room lockproblems/reprogramming,guestroom safe malfunctions, and lock out.
• Participate and take an active role in the development and implementation of the hotel’s fire plan. In addition to testing the hotel’s Fire and Emergency Response preparedness.
