Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for Overnight Patrol in Austin, TX. You will monitor government locations, deter incidents, support access control, and deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a visible presence and professional communication.

This full-time role requires 1 year of security experience, 18+ years old (21+ for armed roles), and a high school diploma. Successful candidates will undergo background checks and drug screening in line with laws.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at a government location by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned buildings, public areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and direct individuals according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
