Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring for an Entry Screening Security Officer in Austin, TX. This full-time role provides security coverage, access control, and responsive incident management at government facilities.

Qualifications

• : At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• : Customer service experience is preferred.
• : Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• : Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• : Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• : Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• : Background investigation in accordance with laws.
• : Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories.
• : Drug screen required where permitted.
• : Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• : A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Respond to incidents, public concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, reporting unusual conditions, policy violations, maintenance concerns, and security-related incidents to site leadership.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrols, incidents, and other security-related observations.

As a Security Officer Entry Screening in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control activities, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will document observations and respond to security-related concerns while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture with integrity and teamwork.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $22.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Thur: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sun: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
