Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer in Woodside, NY. You will provide unarmed patrols, monitor access, assist with visitor interactions, and deliver professional customer service in a government sanitation operations location.

A schedule is built through our shifting platform, offering flexibility and growth opportunities. Minimum requirements include at least 1 year of security experience, HS diploma, and eligibility for licensure if needed.

• Guard card or license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and the public by following site-specific procedures and access-control practices.
• Respond to incidents and service calls in a calm, professional manner and notify appropriate contacts.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter to identify unusual activity and hazards.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for individuals and vehicles per site procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and activity logs documenting patrols, incidents, and actions taken.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and/or members of the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at a government sanitation operations location.
• Respond to incidents, service calls, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, vehicle areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for individuals, vehicles, deliveries, and contractors in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and activity logs documenting patrols, incidents, observations, and actions taken.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
